Meet the Chiropractor: Dr. Kate Ede
It brings me immense joy and gratitude to help individuals, children and families experience the same transformation I did through chiropractic. To see lives change as people rediscover what it feels like to live well, move freely, and truly thrive. Chiropractic isn't just my career; it's my calling, and I'm endlessly inspired by the magic of the human body every single day.
I’ve always been fascinated by how the human body works — its complexity, resilience, and innate ability to heal. My journey to becoming a chiropractor began whilst I was studying biochemistry and psychology. I was driven by a desire to understand health on a deeper level, and initially, I imagined myself working in pathology, researching diseases and how to cure them. However, as I delved deeper, I came to the realisation that constantly focusing on illness and the things that made people sick didn’t align with my true passion. I needed to understand what makes the body thrive, and not just what makes it fail.
At the same time, I was training as a competitive cheerleader, constantly pushing my body to perform at its best. After countless tumbles, falls, and a fair share of neck pain, I sought out chiropractic care — initially just for relief. What I didn't expect was the profound impact it would have on my entire wellbeing. My sleep improved, my energy soared, my muscles recovered faster, and I began performing at a level I didn't think possible. Chiropractic didn't just help me feel better; it helped me function better. I was amazed by how much better life felt when my body and nervous system were working with me, not against me.
That experience sparked something inside me. When I attended the New Zealand College of Chiropractic open day and learned about the body's incredible capacity for self-healing when the nervous system was in balance, it felt like fate. I knew I had found my calling, and choosing to study chiropractic has truly been one of the best decisions of my life.
Since then, I've dedicated myself to helping others experience that same transformation at ONE Chiropractic Studio Amersfoort. Through years of practice, I've witnessed the magic of the human body, how, when supported, it naturally moves towards health, vitality, and balance.
Outside of the practice, I love to keep my life full of creativity, movement, and adventure. You'll often find me travelling to explore new places and cultures, drawing or creating art as a mindful outlet, or diving into a good book with a cup of tea in hand. Staying active is a big part of who I am, and I enjoy yoga, pilates, and the gym — not just for my physical health, but for the mental clarity and balance they bring me. These passions outside of chiropractic help me stay grounded, inspired, and aligned with the same holistic lifestyle I encourage in others.
